Amy Bray is part of the Commercial Real Estate and Banking Group of Andersen, Tate & Carr. Ms. Bray focuses her practice on community association law, specifically drafting the governing documents for homeowners associations, condominium associations, and commercial associations, including mixed use, "green", and age-restricted community documents. Ms. Bray has extensive experience in negotiating and resolving complex covenant and easement issues in developments all over Georgia and throughout the Country.

In addition, she has experience with "green building" issues in both development and community association contexts, including the drafting of documents for LEED Guideline certified buildings and developments.

In 2007, 2009 & 2010 Ms. Bray was named a Georgia Super Lawyer "Rising Star" by Law and Politics and Atlanta Magazine.

Ms. Bray was an integral part of the team, led by Thomas J. Andersen, responsible for negotiating and closing the purchase of the Beltline by one of the firm's clients in 2004 (Atlanta Business Chronicle’s "Deal of the Year 2004") and has remained involved with the continuing complex development issues arising from the Beltline, including its sale to another development entity in late 2007 (the sale was listed in Atlanta Business Chronicle’s "Deal Makers" list, March 2008).

Another facet of her practice encompasses the resolution of community association disputes. As a mediator, Ms. Bray is able to apply a wealth of knowledge to the resolution of such disputes, with an emphasis on finding cost effective and realistic solutions for all parties involved.

Ms. Bray has contributed as author and editor to a number of local and national publications through the years, from the Gwinnett Business Journal to the Community Association Institute’s Common Ground magazine. Select articles have been requested for use in a variety of training seminars across the country.

She presents topics related to community associations, condominiums, and all types of easement agreements to a variety of audiences, including homeowners and community managers, developers, builders, real estate brokers, bankers, and fellow attorneys, at both local and national seminars.

Ms. Bray was admitted to the practice of law in the state of Georgia in 1998. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia (Real Property Law Section), the American Bar Association (Real Property Law Section, Covenant Committee Vice Chair 2006-2008), the Community Associations Institute (PR committee, 2001-present; Green Committee, 2008). She served on the Greater Atlanta Homebuilders Association Education Committee until 2007 and is currently a member of the Atlanta 50+ Building Council. She volunteers in the Emory University School of Law community, including its mentor programs.

She serves as a director of the Georgia Piedmont Land Trust (formerly the Gwinnett Open Land Trust), a charitable conservation organization that preserves natural open spaces in the Georgia Piedmont region.

Ms. Bray received her Juris Doctor degree from the Emory University School of Law in 1998, where she was a member of the Moot Court Society (1997-98 Coordinating Director), Phi Alpha Delta (1996 Clerk, 1996 Marshal), Alternative Dispute Resolution Society (founding member, 1997 President). She was also the Negotiations Competition Co-Founder and Competition Chairman in 1997. Ms. Bray was awarded the Dean's Public Service Award, Order of Advocates, and Order of Barristers in 1998 by the Emory University School of Law. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Georgia in 1995.

She has participated in fundraising for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training and Light the Night Programs, completing her first half marathon in 2002. Over the years she participated as a member of the Ken’s Krusaders team in 2007, including being team captain in 2008, for the Light the Night walk and has served as a member of the Light the Night Executive Committee since 2008. Ms. Bray, her husband, and her daughters live in Duluth.
