Colin Bonus graduated from the University of Dayton where he earned a B.A. degree in Communication Arts. He obtained a J. D. from the University of Dayton School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey and United States District Court - New Jersey. Mr. Bonus focuses his practice on criminal defense and drunk driving matters. In fact, Mr. Bonus is Alcotest Certified and is among approximately 50 NJ lawyers certified in operation and maintenance of the Drager Alcotest 7110, the instrument used to test breath samples for blood alcohol content ("BAC") in NJ. Further, Mr. Bonus is also Standardized Field Sobriety Certified. As a result, Mr. Bonus is among approximately 20 lawyers nationally (five (5) in New Jersey) certified by the National Transportation Safety Administration in proper administration and evaluation of standardized field sobriety tests. These tests are used to establish both probable cause to arrest and also prove a driving while intoxicated (DWI) case where there is no scientific evidence of blood alcohol content (e.g. Alcotest readings or blood sample readings).
