A member of the firm's trial practice group, Phil's practice focuses on civil and criminal litigation including representing plaintiffs in personal injury cases, representing parties in general and commercial civil litigation, land title and boundary disputes, family law and criminal matters.
Phil has served as a member of the State of NH Personnel Appeals Board since 2000. He is a member and past president (1989-90) of the Belknap County Bar Association, a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association, the American Association for Justice and the New Hampshire Association for Justice, having served on its board of governors representing Belknap County from 1979-1986.
Phil is active in community service, having served on the Town of Sanbornton Zoning Board of Adjustment from 1984 to 2008. He is also a member and past president (2001-02) of the Laconia Kiwanis Club.
Born in Manhattan, New York, Phil now resides in Sanbornton with his wife, Jackie. He has two grown sons.
In 1970, Phil received his bachelor of arts degree in government from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He then went on to receive his JD degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1973. He was admitted to the New Hampshire Bar in 1973 and has practiced in Belknap County since that date. He was admitted to the US District Court for the District of NH in 1974, and to the US Supreme Court in 1978.
