SCOTT was raised in the Cheat Lake area, near Morgantown, West Virginia. He joined Bordas & Bordas in 1992. Scott is a trial lawyer with experience in both state and federal courts in West Virginia and Ohio. He has represented clients in a variety of personal injury cases including medical malpractice, products liability, premises liability, automobile collisions, tractor-trailer accidents and motor cycle accidents.

Scott Blass also has a distinguished record of achievement in his appellate practice.

Scott is a 1987 graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law. He received the Order of the Barristers Award for excellence in trial advocacy. While in law school he clerked for Bachmann, Hess, Bachmann & Garden in Wheeling, West Virginia.

Scott is a 1984 graduate of West Virginia University. He received a Bachelor of Arts Magna Cum Laude in Political Science with a minor in economics. He was inducted to Phi Beta Kappa in recognition of high attainments in liberal scholarship.

Upon graduating from law school, Scott worked as a trial attorney with Bachmann, Hess, Bachmann & Garden in Wheeling, West Virginia. He also served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Ohio County, West Virginia in 1988 and 1989. This position allowed Scott to gain valuable, extensive, immediate jury trial experience. Scott has presented seminars to other lawyers in the areas of insurance coverage issues and bad faith insurance practices.

Scott served as President of the Pike Cubs Baseball Association and as a board member from 1998 to 2003. This youth baseball and softball organization provides services to over 300 children in the Wheeling area. He and his wife Kathy are key leaders of the Driving Fore a Cure Golf Scramble that benefits breast cancer research and which is held at Oglebay Parks Arnold Palmer Course each Fall.

Scott is a member of the Wheeling Elk’s Lodge 28. He is also a member of Vance Memorial Presbyterian Church. Scott and his wife, Kathy, have two sons, G.T. and Sam.

Scott is a member of the West Virginia State Bar Association, West Virginia Association for Justice, Ohio Association of Trial Lawyers and American Association for Justice. He is licensed to practice in West Virginia and Ohio.

Scott is the President of the West Virginia Association for Justice and has served as an officer and executive committee member of that state trial lawyer organization for the past eight years.
