He also has successfully handled many hundreds of divorces and domestic disputes, ranging from the simple non-contested divorce to complicated property divisions and custody disputes. He has achieved impressive results in difficult support collection matters and enforcement (contempt) cases as well as in modifications of unreasonable prior decrees. In addition, Rick has over 30 years experience in litigating and mediating personal injury cases including auto, truck, motorcycle, and pedestrian accidents, highway construction negligence, injuries from animals, products liability cases, and premises liability claims. Rick has successfully litigated numerous wrongful death cases and is also experienced in obtaining large recoveries in aquatic cases such as diving injuries and drownings. In addition to achieving favorable results from litigation and alternative dispute resolution (mediation & arbitration), Rick is also an experienced appellate lawyer. He has won numerous appeals in the federal and Missouri appellate court systems, and has an impressive winning record before the Missouri Supreme Court. Just a few of those cases are outlined below. On top of all this, Rick teaches legal studies at Maryville University where he has been an adjunct faculty member for over 8 years. He also teaches other lawyers under the auspices of the National Business Institute and the Bar Association of Metro St. Louis.
