Brenda Braud Birner was born in Lafayette, Louisiana on 12/8/49 to the parents of Lillian Trosclair Braud and Lester H. Braud, Sr. She is the oldest of seven children. After graduating from Destrehan High School in 1967, she returned to Lafayette, LA to attend the University of Southwestern Louisiana where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Math Education in 1972 and met William Birner. She began teaching in St. Charles Parish Schools then married William Birner in 1972.
During her thirteen years of teaching, she returned to school at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana where she received a Masters of Education Degree in 1978 and a Specialists in Education Degree in 1980, both in Educational Administration and Supervision. She continued her education at Loyola Law School in New Orleans where she received her Juris Doctorate Degree in 1987.
In 1987, she joined her husband, William Birner, in the practice of law in the firm of Birner & Birner Law Offices, initially in a general law practice. Her practice gravitated to domestic law which she now practices exclusively in St. Charles, St. John, St. James, Ascension and Assumption Parishes. After her husband retired from the practice of law in 1999 she maintained the law office as a solo practitioner which she does today.
