Philip M. Bierman founded Bierman Law Group in 2004. Mr. Bierman’s practice emphasizes representation of technology companies that range from start-ups to publicly held corporations.
Mr. Bierman focuses on technology and intellectual property transactions, including, licensing and distribution, Web and Internet transactions, electronic commerce, corporate partnering, outsourcing, consulting, strategic alliances and other intellectual property and commercial transactions affecting the technology industry. Mr. Bierman has extensive experience in all phases of technology and information technology matters.
His practice also includes intellectual property counseling, including trademark and copyright registrations, advice on brand selection, advertising and promotions, and other proprietary rights, as well as corporate formation, governance, mergers and acquisitions. Having managed and participated in numerous litigation matters around the world, including the defense and prosecution of a complex multinational copyright infringement lawsuit seeking damages in excess of $100,000,000 and involving copyright law issues of first impression, Mr. Bierman is also experienced in complex litigation management.
Prior to founding the firm, Mr. Bierman served as Vice President and General Counsel of Accpac International, Inc., an industry leading multi-national software developer, where he began working in 2000. Mr. Bierman has also served as Vice President and General Counsel of: AmeriMont, Inc., an investment, finance and Internet incubation company; Refer-Law, Inc., a national legal information and radio production company where he also served as its Chief Operating Officer; and Inland Group, Inc., a real estate development and political consulting firm.
Mr. Bierman received a B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California in 1990, and a J.D. degree from Southwestern University School of Law in 1993.
Mr. Bierman is admitted to practice before the State Bar of California (Member of the Intellectual Property Law Section) and the Oregon State Bar.
