Charles W. Bennett earned his undergraduate degree with a B.A. in Economics, cum laude, from the University of North Carolina Asheville in 1972. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1976. He was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 1977. He is admitted to the Western, Middle and Eastern Federal District Courts and to the Western, Middle and Eastern Federal Bankruptcy Courts. Mr. Bennett was a co-founder of the firm in 1982.
Mr. Bennett is a Commissioner with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (Chairman of the Non-Game and Endangered Species Committee), a member of the advisory Board of Directors of Branch Banking & Trust Company, a former Director of United Carolina Bank, a member of the Board of Directors of the Matthews Senior Center, a current member of and a past officer and director of the Matthews Rotary Club, past Chairman of the Matthews Mayor Task Force on Education, past Director and President of the Matthews Chamber of Commerce, and is active in other civic and charitable groups and organizations in the Matthews area.
Mr. Bennett practices in the areas of Residential and Commercial Real Estate, Zoning, Land Planning, Environmental Law, Contracts, Mergers and Acquisitions, General Business, Corporate Law, and Estate Planning.
