Emily Benjamini has been working in the field of criminal defense for the last 15 years. Prior to that, she worked in the field of civil law for several years. She was employed by the Riverside County Public Defenders Office as a criminal defense attorney for more than 8 years. After leaving the Public Defender's office, she continued to represent adult and juvenile indigent defendants by court appointment for two years. She is experienced in all areas of criminal law including serious felonies and misdemeanors. She has extensive experience in the field of juvenile defense.
For several years, Dean and Emily Benjamini worked together as deputy public defenders. Since 2005, they have been practicing criminal defense together using a team approach to all of their cases. As an experienced litigation team, the Benjaminis are able to offer their clients the benefit of their collective criminal defense experience and this allows them to provide skilled representation. This approach has allowed them to successfully defend clients on complex, serious felonies. The Benjaminis are familiar with the local courts and are known and respected for their detailed analysis and aggressive representation on complex matters, including search and seizure issues, constitutional issues, and evidentiary issues. As a husband and wife team, they have already successfully guided many clients through the criminal court system.

Emily Benjamini graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan, with High Distinction and Highest Honors in Communication and was made a member of Phi Beta Kappa in 1989. She received her degree of Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego in 1992.
