Vicki A. Bell is a litigator who practices in the areas of family law, general civil litigation, personal injury, bankruptcy, appeals, criminal defense, and in various aspects of probate law, in the North Alabama area.

Her primary practice area is family law, including divorce, custody, adoption, paternity, alimony and child support, modification and enforcement of final decrees, visitation disputes, family violence issues, domestication and enforcement of foreign decrees, legitimation, prenuptial and antenuptial agreements, property division and grandparent rights.

Her general civil, bankruptcy and probate practice encompasses such diverse issues as breach of contract, fraud, administration of estates and trusts, will preparation, guardianships and conservatorships, intestate estates, debtor and creditor bankruptcy cases, adversarial proceedings in bankruptcy courts, determination of heirs, debt collection and personal injury.

Vicki A. Bell represents clients at every level of our court system, and also handles appeals to the Alabama Courts of Civil and Criminal Appeals, the Alabama Supreme Court and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. She can work with your local trial counsel from anywhere in the State of Alabama to coordinate the necessary preparations for an appeal.

Ms. Bell prides herself in her ability to deal with client's needs in a common sense, compassionate manner, considering the economics of litigation. She strives to keep clients fully informed of every aspect of their representation and values client participation in the litigation. Ms. Bell recognizes the ability of informed clients to make wise decisions in directing the course of their cases, and recognizes that it is her duty to keep her clients fully informed so that they may make wise decisions.

Vicki A. Bell is a graduate of Auburn University and a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Nova Southeastern University School of Law, where she was also a member of Law Review. She is a member in good standing of the Alabama Bar, a member of the Family Law Section of the Alabama Bar, the Huntsville-Madison County Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and a retired member of the Florida Bar. She was associated with the law firm of Stephens, Millirons, Harrison & Gammons from 1990 until 1995, when she opened her solo practice.

It is important to understand that Ms. Bell believes that every possible effort must be made to resolve family disputes through mediation and settlement. Numerous years of experience have taught her that litigation, while attractive to many, is an absolute last resort when all else fails. Litigation, more often than not, and particularly in family disputes, leads to increased hostility, estrangement of children, dissipation of assets, and financial ruin for everyone except the lawyers.
