Beem, Clifford Lee

Kerry Begley is a senior associate in the Litigation/Controversy Department. She joined the firm in 2011.

Past Experience

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Begley served as a law clerk to the Honorable Sharon Prost of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the Honorable S. James Otero of the United States District Court for the Central District of California.

During law school, Ms. Begley was a summer associate at a boutique intellectual property law firm in Washington DC, where she worked on patent prosecution matters, and the New York office of an international law firm, where she concentrated on patent and copyright litigation. She also served as an honors fellow for the Lawyering Program, the first-year legal writing and research program at Cornell Law School.

As an undergraduate, Ms. Begley completed internships in the Chemical Development Division of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals (now part of Pfizer Inc.), during which she created and improved the syntheses of chemical compounds being developed as pharmaceuticals. Additionally, as a research fellowship student at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Ms. Begley developed techniques to analyze dietary supplements containing ephedrine. She was awarded the McNeal Chemistry Medal, the CRC Press General Chemistry Achievement Award and the American Chemical Society Organic Chemistry Achievement Award for her studies.

Professional Activities

Ms. Begley is a member of the Giles S. Rich American Inn of Court, the Federal Circuit Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
