Marshall Basham was born and raised in Ponca City, OK and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1961. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Central Oklahoma, and a Master’s Degree from the University of Oklahoma. He taught English and Literature at the University of Memphis, and Oklahoma Baptist University, before going to law school. At the University of Oklahoma, and being admitted to the bar in 1980. Marshall entered the practice of law with Charles Henry and Terry West in Shawnee, and later was law partner with Steve Lewis, former speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives. He was Associate District Judge for Pottawatomie County for 6 years and then practiced workers’ compensation law before associating with Fred Boettcher in 1996. Since 1998, he has exclusively represented claimants before the Social Security Administration. He has presented continuing legal education seminars for the National Business Institute several times in recent years.
