Elijah Alper is a senior associate in the Regulatory and Government Affairs Department, and a member of the Financial Institutions Practice Group and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Working Group. He joined the firm in 2010.
Practice
Mr. Alper’s practice focuses on representing financial institutions in supervisory and enforcement matters involving the US federal banking agencies and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. He also consults bank and nonbank financial institutions on anti-money laundering compliance and other US regulatory matters.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Alper completed a fellowship for former Justice Sandra Day O’Connor’s Our Courts civics education project, and he prepared speeches and essays for former Justice O’Connor on judicial independence, civics education and judicial review.
Prior to beginning his legal studies, Mr. Alper was a software design engineer at Microsoft.
Professional Experience
Mr. Alper assists in organizing events on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the mortgage crisis, and other timely subjects for the DC Bar Association.
