Mark F. Aiello has practiced law for over 20 years. In that time, he has been a general practitioner and represented clients in various areas of civil and criminal litigation. At this time, he concentrates his practice in family law, criminal defense and personal injury litigation. Mr. Aiello received his Juris Doctor degree from The John Marshall Law School, in Chicago, Illinois. He was an assistant public defender with the Winnebago County Public Defender’s Office, in Rockford, Illinois. In that position, he represented clients in felony and misdemeanor cases. He also represented clients in juvenile delinquency and abuse and neglect matters. He engaged in the private practice of law with the Law Offices of Aiello & Aiello, in Woodstock, Illinois. At that time, he was involved in the general practice of law, civil and criminal litigation, and real estate law.
People v. Alexander, 250 Ill. App. 3d 68, 619 N. E. 2d 863, 189 Ill. Dec. 162 (2nd Dist.1993). Mr. Aiello was Mr. Alexander’s trial counsel. Mr. Aiello tendered entrapment instructions to the trial judge. The trial judge refused to give these instructions to the jury. In a published opinion, the Illinois Appellate Court found that the trial court erred when it refused to instruct the jury on the entrapment defense. The Appellate Court held that when a criminal defendant submits “slight evidence” of entrapment, the defendant is entitled to have the jury instructed on that affirmative defense.
