Abrams, Carol

Giovanna ("Gia") A. Abreu grew up in San Juan, Puerto Rico and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2012. Gia graduated from Florida International University in 2008 with a B.A. degree in International Relations, where she was on the Dean’s List, and from Florida International University College of Law, with a J.D. degree, with honors. While at FIU Law, Gia was on the Dean’s List and received the CALI Excellence for the Future (Book Award) in Legal Research and Writing (Spring 2009). At FIU Law, Gia served as Graduate Assistant to Dr. Stanley Fish and as Dean’s Fellow to the Assistant Dean for Development & External Affairs.

Gia clerked for the Honorable Arthur Rothenberg, Circuit Court Judge in the Probate Division of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in Miami-Dade, Florida.

Gia joined the firm of Golden & Cowan, P.A. as a Law Clerk in October 2011 and became an Associate upon her admission to the Florida Bar in April 2012.

Gia is a member of the Elder Law Section, the Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section and the Young Lawyers Division of the Florida Bar. She is also currently a member of the Young Lawyers Section, the Probate & Guardianship Committee, and the Legal Aid Committee of the Dade County Bar Association.
