Louis C. Zicht was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 29, 1949. Mr. Zicht graduated cum laude in 1971 from Clark University, Worcester, Massachusetts and received his Juris Doctorate Degree in 1974 from Boston College Law School. Mr. Zicht is a commercial real estate attorney with over 35 years of experience, the last 5 years at Gilman, McLaughlin & Hanrahan LLP. His main areas of expertise include shopping center and office building acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, development, construction, and financing transactions. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Zicht was a member of the senior management team of Heritage Property Investment Trust, Inc. (Heritage), a New York Stock Exchange registered real estate investment trust. Heritage owned and managed over 165 regional and community shopping centers consisting of approximately 34,000,000 square feet, located in over 35 states, with anchor tenants including Wal-Mart, Home Depot, T. J. Maxx, Walgreen’s, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Publix, Kroger and numerous other major national and regional retailers. As Vice President and General Counsel, his responsibilities included oversight of a 12-person, in-house legal department and numerous law firms which represented Heritage and direct responsibility to provide the legal services required in connection with multi-property acquisitions and dispositions; joint venture development; lease transactions; commercial litigation; and construction, property management and related agreements for the operation of the properties in the Heritage portfolio.
