Zulakis, George

Prior to joining the firm, Barbara did two federal clerkships. From 2010 to 2011, she clerked for the Northern District of Alabama for the Honorable William M. Acker, Jr. From 2011-2012, she clerked on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit for the Honorable Joel F. Dubina, Chief Judge. While in law school at the University of Alabama, Barbara was very involved in the school's trial advocacy team, winning first place at the National Trial Advocacy Competition in East Lansing, Michigan, in 2009. She was also very involved in the Wildlaw Moot Court team advancing to the quarter final rounds at a competition held at Pace University in 2010. Barbara received numerous awards in law school for her excellent trial advocacy skills, her leadership skills, and for her involvement in the law school. She was also the Managing Editor of the the Law & Psychology Review, during her last year of law school.

Barbara did her undergraduate work at the University of Alabama-Birmingham where she graduated from college in only three years. She was accepted into UAB's prestigious University Honors Program, which only accepts fifty students a year. She graduated magna cum laude with University honors and departmental honors with a major in Political Science and a double minor in Criminal Justice and Philosophy and Law. She was extremely involved in college and was even awarded the UAB Alumni Society's Ms. UAB title in 2004 for her excellent academics and dedication to the University.

Barbara grew up in Montgomery and attended LAMP High School. She is the youngest of three daughters and her father is also an attorney in Montgomery. At home, Barbara enjoys spending time with her husband, Jody, and their two great danes, Shelby and Bruno. Barbara coaches a high school mock trial team (Youth Judicial) and is a published author.
