Tim McCormack brings experience in health care contracts and reimbursement and complex commercial litigation to his qui tam work at Phillips & Cohen LLP.

He has had key roles in many successful whistleblower cases involving hospitals, a medical device company, government contractors and pharmaceutical companies. These include cases against:

• Medtronic Spine LLC and 25 hospitals that were Medtronic's customers ($101 million total settlement).
• The Louis Berger Group, which resulted in the largest recovery in a case involving war-zone contractors in Afghanistan and Iraq ($69.3 million settlement of qui tam case and related criminal fine).
• Alpharma ($42 million settlement).
• Omnicare, the nation's largest provider of pharmacy services for nursing homes, and one of the country's largest nursing home chains (total settlement of $33.9 million).
• Sodexo Inc., a case joined by New York State ($20 million).

Prior to law school, Mr. McCormack worked for four years as a hospital payment analyst and monitored reporting and contract compliance for several health care organizations in Maine.

He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law in 2001, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Maine Law Review.  He clerked for the Honorable D. Brock Hornby, U.S. District Court for the District of Maine, and the Honorable Fred I. Parker of the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. McCormack then worked for U.S. Senator Susan M. Collins as her policy advisor for labor, agriculture, forestry and veterans' issues.  Before joining Phillips & Cohen, he worked as a litigation associate in the Washington, DC office of Goodwin Procter LLP, where his practice focused on complex commercial litigation.

Mr. McCormack is bar qualified in Washington, DC, Maine and Massachusetts.
