Education
Ms. Rebecca McCoy-LaForce obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington, where she graduated magna cum laude in Communication, with an emphasis on rhetoric. There, she was a member of both the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society, and Golden Key International Honors Society.
It was her work as a policy intern for the Washington State Senate that her long standing desire to practice law finally took shape. Subsequently, she spent her time as an Inmate Literacy Tutor at the King County Correctional Facility, and as the Vice President of the American Civil Liberties Union, University of Washington chapter.
She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. During law school, Ms. Rebecca McCoy-LaForce was awarded Witkin Awards for Excellence for receiving the highest grade in both Evidence, and her Takings and the Environment Seminar.
While pursuing her Juris Doctor degree, Ms. Rebecca McCoy-LaForce served as the Executive Notes Editor of the Hastings Business Law Journal, worked as a Teacher's Assistant for Legal Writing and Research, and clerked at the United States Attorney's Office. Notably, she also studied with Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia in Strasbourg, France.
