Counselor Zeid understands the emotions that are involved in any domestic relations matter, as terminating the marriage, dividing up the assets and matters concerning children, both as an attorney and as one who has been divorced.
After a divorce or dissolution of marriage, one or both of the parties is likely to get married again to someone who also has children and it is always a challenge to blend two families together. Counselor Zeid has assisted many clients with his 30 plus years of legal experience. He can prepare your simple will or a complex trust, depending upon your needs. If you have small children and have been divorced, you may want a trust so that upon your demise, someone other than your ex-spouse will be in charge of the funds. For many families, a simple will, leaving all to your spouse and then to the children is sufficient. Counselor Zeid can guide you through the information, which is necessary to make an informed decision for your estate planning, whether simple or complex.
As part of estate planning Lawyer Zeid can assist with the preparation of a living will, durable power of attorney for health care and a financial power of attorney and advise you of all aspects of transfer on death affidavit for real estate, payable on death and transfer on death assets.
When a loved one dies, Lawyer Zeid has the experience to help you with the probate of the estate which involves transferring assets to the surviving beneficiaries. He is familiar with the needs of the older population as he was an owner of an Assisted Living Home in Willoughby, Ohio.
PERSONAL INJURY ATTORNEY
Attorney Gary D. Zeid has been representing victims of automobile, motorcycle and truck accidents for over 30 years. He has had the privilege of helping his clients obtain fair and just compensation for their injuries or the death of a loved one.
Today there are many complicated factors in handling an injury claim. Decisions must be made as to how medical bills should be paid, what claims can be made and when those claims have to be properly asserted. Investigation and evidence preservation is vital at the early stages of your claim. State laws and some insurance policies have critical time frames for action which if not heeded can adversely affect your claim. Attorney Zeid will not settle your claim until all factors are considered and we know the extent of your injuries. Beware of the insurance adjuster for the person who caused the injury to contact you immediately after the injury to settle your claim for a small amount of money. You may be tempted to accept the offer, but you are only cheating yourself by settling the claim without knowing the full extent of your injury. Often it takes months to know the full extent of your injury and if the problems will heal themselves within a short period of time. Attorney Zeid has the experience to guide you through the process and to help you make an informed decision.
REAL ESTATE LAWYER
Attorney Gary D. Zeid has been involved in real estate for most of his life. Before becoming an attorney, he sold residential real estate and then obtained his real estate Brokers license in the State of Ohio. While he no longer sells real estate, he has maintained his Brokers license since 1975 and is familiar with all aspects of residential real estate, including listing agreements, purchase agreements, and short sales. He has also been involved in eminent domain cases, where the State takes a portion of your property for the good of the community, such as widening a road. He has more than doubled the State’s offer, both in negotiations and in a jury trial. Attorney Zeid has also served as legal counsel for the City of Willowick’s Board of Zoning Appeals and their Planning Commission.
