William N. Zifchak is a senior partner at the firm of Sasscer, Clagett & Bucher. His practice focuses on insurance defense and personal injury litigation, including premises and professional liability law.
Recognized for his extensive knowledge of the law, and with over 30 years of courtroom experience, Mr. Zifchak is well-known among his peers as an extremely accomplished trial lawyer. He is an “AV” Rated Attorney, and has successfully tried more than 600 personal injury and defense cases to verdict.
Mr. Zifchak is a 1964 graduate of St. Anselm College in Manchester New Hampshire, where he was a member of its nationally ranked intercollegiate debate team. Following graduation, he began his legal studies at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. Two years later, he left Georgetown for the U.S. Army and a one-year tour of duty with the 4th Infantry Division in Vietnam, where he reached the rank of Sergeant E-5, was awarded the Bronze Star medal, and honorably discharged. He then returned to Georgetown, obtaining his Juris Doctor degree in February, 1971.
Upon graduation, Mr. Zifchak accepted an associate position at a prominent Washington, D.C. law firm, where for the next 5 years he tried over 200 insurance defense cases to verdict. He joined Sasscer, Clagett & Bucher in 1976, and thirty years later, he continues to enjoy working hard to obtain the best results for his clients.
Mr. Zifchak is married, with 2 grown children, and for R&R enjoys golf, and fishing the Chesapeake Bay.
