John Zandy is Chair of Wiggin and Dana's Labor, Employment and Benefits Department, and has extensive experience representing employers in high stakes and complex labor and employment matters. He has been a partner with the firm since 1987, and previously served as an attorney for the National Labor Relations Board and the Solicitor's Office of the U.S. Department of Labor in New York City. John was also a partner for many years with a law firm in New York City where he was engaged in a national practice representing employers in labor and employment matters. John has a special concentration in labor relations, including National Labor Relations Board proceedings, collective bargaining, grievance and arbitration proceedings, and union organizing campaigns, but he also devotes a significant part of his practice to defending employers in cases involving allegations of discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful discharge, wage and hour, and OSHA violations. He is also a resource to his clients on "HR" issues such as discipline and discharge, wage and hour, FMLA, union-free policies, employment and non-competition agreements, ADA compliance, and OFCCP compliance and audits.
John's practice is broad and involves a wide range of industries including health care (hospitals, nursing homes, home health care, and emergency medical services), manufacturing, newspapers, technology, other service industries, education (colleges, universities, other private educational institutions), banks, public utilities and non-profit organizations.
