David Yang is a senior associate in the Litigation/Controversy Department, and a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group. He joined the firm in 2011.
Practice
Mr. Yang’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation. He has worked on matters involving a diverse array of technologies, including wireless communications, microprocessors, semiconductor memories, radio frequency identification (RFID), e-commerce and database systems, medical devices and unmanned aircraft. He also has experience with issues relating to standards organizations.
Mr. Yang is also active in pro bono matters, and has worked on issues involving vocational school fraud and low-income tenant rights. He has served as co-counsel to the Asian Pacific American Legal Center and the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles.
While in law school, Mr. Yang served as a research assistant for Professor Paul M. Schwartz in the area of information privacy law and worked on public surveillance issues as a member of the Samuelson Law, Technology & Public Policy Clinic. Mr. Yang received four Jurisprudence Awards and a Prosser Prize for his coursework. Upon graduation, Mr. Yang was elected to the Order of the Coif.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Yang worked for a large technology consulting firm on e-commerce and enterprise software projects.
