Rod is an associate in the firm of Briggs and Morgan, Professional Association. He is a member of the Business Law Section and practices principally in the areas of:
Rod also has experience handling formations, dissolutions, restructuring, stock option agreements, management agreements, buy/sell agreements, and employment agreements. Finally, he concentrates a portion of his practice on executive compensation and severance issues, including compliance with Sections 409A and 280(g).
Rod is a member of the Hennepin County, Minnesota State Bar, and Florida Bar associations. He is admitted to practice in Minnesota, Florida, and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
He received his B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Notre Dame and his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law. He also has a masters degree in business taxation from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. Prior to joining Briggs in 2008, Rod worked in the tax departments of international accounting firms KPMG and Deloitte. After several years in public accounting, he transitioned into private practice with several other Minneapolis law firms as a tax/corporate attorney.
