James R. Wyrsch was named a recipient of the 2011 Sean O'Brien Freedom Award from the Midwestern Innocence Project. It is the fourth time in the history of the organization that this award has been given. Previous recipients include the author John Grisham.

James R. Wyrsch, J.R. Hobbs, Stephen G. Mirakian, Marilyn B. Keller, Charles M. Rogers, J. Justin Johnston, Nathan J. Owings, and David S. Bell were named as "Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyers," published by Law & Politics. The attorneys are chosen by a combination of a survey of lawyers, a panel review, and a research process, including interviews, independent research, data verification, and a good standing review and are limited to 5% of the licensed attorneys in a state. James R. Wyrsch and J.R. Hobbs were named in the "Top Ten" Super Lawyers and Marilyn Keller was named in the Top 50 Women Lawyers in the combined states of Missouri and Kansas.

James R. Wyrsch and J.R. Hobbs were named as among the "Best of the Bar" by the Kansas City Business Journal. Both are included in the "Best of the Bar 10-Year Nominee."

James R. Wyrsch and J.R. Hobbs were selected for inclusion in the 2011 publication "Business Crime Defence," published by Who's Who Legal, International Who's Who of Business Lawyers; the firm has also been included 2011 publication of Who's Who Legal, the International Who's Who of Business Lawyers.

Wyrsch Hobbs & Mirakian, P.C., was named as the "Missouri Business Crime Law Firm of the Year" by the London publication, Corporate INTL.

Best Lawyers also named J.R. Hobbs as the "Kansas City, MO Best Lawyers Criminal Defense: White-Collar Lawyer of the Year" for 2012.

U.S. News and Best Lawyers named Wyrsch Hobbs Mirakian among the best law firms and ranked the firm in Tier 1, Kansas City, Missouri, in the areas of Commercial Litigation, Criminal Defense: Non-White-Collar, Criminal Defense: White-Collar - Governmental Investigations, and Criminal Defense: White-Collar - Litigation.
