Tong advises U.S. and international clients on intellectual property law, with an emphasis on patent portfolio planning and procurement, infringement and validity assessment and technology transfer. He also has experience in intellectual property right dispute resolution. He is well versed in a variety of technology areas, including semiconductor and superconductor devices, optical systems, electronics, medical imaging and diagnostic systems, telecommunication systems, orthopedic implants and materials characterization and testing systems. He earned his J.D. magna cum laude from the William Mitchell College of Law, a B.S. and a master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a master's and doctorate in materials science from Cornell University.
