Alexandra Martinez received her Juris Doctorate from DePaul College of Law and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Northeastern Illinois University. She is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois and before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association.
Ms. Martinez is experienced in strategically litigating contested family law issues relating to child support, visitation, maintenance, and child custody. She previously helped immigrant families in contested divorces as well as foreclosure, bankruptcy, evictions and immigration issues.
Ms. Martinez also interned at the Legal Aid Bureau safeguarding victims of domestic violence as well as the Family Defense Center representing falsely accused parents in DCFS cases. In addition, Ms. Martinez participated in the Advanced Immigrant Defense Clinic where she successfully represented clients in immigration court. She has studied abroad in Argentina and Costa Rica where she focused on international human rights.
Ms. Martinez is a zealous advocate for her clients and is passionate about protecting a father’s right to parentage and custody. She is originally from Colombia and is fluent in Spanish.
