Practice

Dr. Martin's practice includes the preparation and prosecution of biotechnology and pharmaceutical patents and assisting in intellectual property litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Dr. Martin's thesis research focused on identifying genes involved in breast cancer and mammary gland development. Her technical background includes molecular and cell biology, transgenic mouse models, mammary gland transplantation studies, RNA interference (RNAi) and DNA microarrays.

Dr. Martin has presented her work at many seminars and conferences and has received numerous awards. She has worked extensively in biotechnology and pharmaceutical research in Canada. She has been a research assistant at Glaxo Wellcome Inc., Biochem Therapeutic Inc., Glaxo Canada Inc. and Allelix Biopharmaceuticals Inc., where she participated in both basic research and formulation development.
