Fred is a partner with Marsh, Paine & Waddill, and has more than 40 years of legal experience. He is Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
Born in Pritchett Texas, a small community in East Texas, Fred attended high school in Gladewater, Texas. He attended Kilgore Junior College , and after a tour in the U.S. Air Force received his Associate degree. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Houston, and his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Houston, Bates College of Law.
When in law school, Fred clerked for Judge Barron on the 14th Court of Appeals. Upon graduating from law school Fred began his legal career as a solo practitioner in Houston. He was associated with Chuck Brink in Houston; was as Assistant City Attorney in Corpus Christi, Texas, an Assistant D.A. in Hidalgo County, Texas , where he rose to Chief Prosecutor. He served for almost 12 years as Chief Felony Prosecutor in Denton and several Texas Counties.
In 1987 Fred returned to practice as a solo practitioner until 2001, when he formed the law firm of Marsh & Odom L.L.P. In 2002 founded Marsh, Odom & Hansen, engaging in the general practice of law with an emphasis on criminal law, probate and civil litigation. Fred has represented clients in more than 3,000 cases, which included alleged crimes regarding:
