A founding member, Bob received his undergraduate degree from Middlebury College in Vermont, and graduated with Honors from the Law School at the University of North Carolina. He was a member of the Order of the Coif (top ten percent) and the recipient of the Chief Justice Walter Clark Award (top ten class ranking). In the early 1970's, Bob served as law clerk to Chief Judge Eugene A. Gordon, United States District Court, Middle District of North Carolina. Bob has practiced law since 1973, successfully handling a wide variety of litigation: business and contract litigation, products liability, debt collection, creditor bankruptcy, construction, patent, trademark, and professional malpractice. Active in community and charitable affairs, Bob has served as Chairman of the United Way of Alamance County, Chairman of the Alamance County Area Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the March of Dimes for Alamance County, Chairman of the March of Dimes for the Piedmont Triad Region, and President of the Alamance County Bar Association. Bob also served as co-founder and Director of the Open Door Clinic, which provides free medical for needy families. Bob was also among eight lawyers at Wishart Norris Henninger & Pittman chosen by his peers to be recognized as a ""2006 North Carolina Super Lawyer"" in the practice area of Business Litigation. Bob's practice focuses on commercial litigation, product liability, employment litigation, and intellectual property.
