Peter A. Williams

Attorney

Peter is an attorney at Beckman & Steen and focuses his practices in the areas of criminal defense, debtor/creditor issues (to include assisting individuals and businesses with their own debt collection and assisting individuals being harassed by third party debt collectors), and elder law (to include simple estate planning), and probate.

Peter received his B.A. from Bethel University in St. Paul with a double major in history and political science and his J.D. from the University of St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Army Judge Advocate Basic Course from the U.S. Army Judge Advocate Legal Center and School in Charlottesville, VA.

While in law school, Peter was a Senior Editor on the Journal of Law and Public policy and served as the President of the Military Law Society and the Co-President of the St. Thomas Student Chapter of the International Justice Mission.
Peter also was an active board member of the St. Thomas Public Service board and logged over 150 hours of volunteer work while in law school. He was the recipient of the 2010 University of St. Thomas Mission Award for Service and Community.

Peter serves as a Judge Advocate in the Minnesota Army National Guard where his current position is Brigade Trial Counsel. His training in the military only furthers his passion for service and his ability to be an effective advocate for his clients.
