John F. Willis has been a civil litigation attorney since 1989 in real estate, commercial, insurance, bankruptcy, probate, banking, personal injury, and products liability cases, including national class action cases. Since joining Wacks & McHale PC in 2007 he has focused on real estate title litigation. After being admitted to the Massachusetts bar in 2000, he has successfully handled cases and resolved real estate title issues in the Massachusetts superior courts, land court, bankruptcy court, and federal district court.
Before 2000 he was a Managing Editor for the Tulane Law Review, served as a law clerk for Justice Walter F. Marcus, Jr. at the Louisiana Supreme Court, and litigated cases to positive outcomes for his clients in Louisiana state and federal courts. Justice Marcus recommended him as "an excellent law clerk" and his supervising attorney, Louis Bufkin, wrote that he is "extremely bright" and "seldom does one encounter a young lawyer so intent upon achieving excellence." John graduated with honors from Tulane Law School, Stanford University, and Middlesex School in Concord, Massachusetts. Prior to law school, he worked as an engineer and computer programmer for the United States Navy. He has served as a board member for nonprofits including My Brothers Table in Lynn, and as cub scout leader for the Town of Swampscott.
