Russ Wilkey is admitted to practice and is a member in good standing of the bar association of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He is admitted to the bar for the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky. He is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati, OH. since March 26, 1982. He is admitted and qualified to practice before the Court of Appeals in the Seventh Circuit in Chicago, IL and has been since February 8, 1991. Russ Wilkey is admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court.
Russ Wilkey has practiced extensively in the state and federal courts and has participated in litigation which has changed, modified or clarified existing law and which cases are cited as precedent in other cases.
Russ Wilkey has practiced Personal Injury law since entering private practice in 1981. In that practice he has successfully represented hundreds of injured plaintiffs in a wide range of cases.
In addition to his work representing injured parties in personal injury cases he has represented thousands of clients in chapter 7, 11, 12 and 13 cases. He and his partner Joe Castlen are known for their work in Business Reorganizations in which they have represented Banks, Coal Companies, Oil and Gas Companies, Private Individuals in various areas of Personal Financial and Business Reorganization.
Russ Wilkey has been a member of the panel of standing Chapter 7 Trustees for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Kentucky since 1982. In that capacity, he has handled over 55,000 chapter 7 trustee cases.
A native of Owensboro, Russ is an active participant in community affairs. He is either serving or has served in the following capacities. President of the Alumni Board of Sigma Phi Epsilon's chapter at Kentucky Wesleyan College; Vice-Chair for legal affairs of Audubon Area Community Services; Board of Directors of the Owensboro Metropolitan Parks Foundation.
