Ashley Wilkes' primary area of practice is intellectual property, with a focus on a broad range of IP litigation matters, including federal court cases involving trademark, trade dress, false advertising, and copyright laws. In addition, she has counseled clients regarding protecting their product names, images, and brand identities under trademark and trade dress laws. Ashley assisted in representing The Weir Group in a trade dress suit involving slurry pumps in federal court, and she is currently representing Lowe's Home Centers in federal court in a copyright infringement matter.
Ashley also focuses on licensing, transferring, and counseling clients in intellectual property matters, as well as assisting in the resolution of trademark disputes and the prosecution of trademark applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and has assisted in obtaining numerous favorable judgments and settlements for Toni & Guy Limited in connection with its BED HEAD® brand. She represents clients in trademark opposition and cancelation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB).
Ashley has conducted IP due diligence in numerous licensing, financial investment, prelitigation, and acquisition projects. She represents clients in cease and desist efforts against alleged infringers and assists clients with policing, enforcing, and defending trade dress and trademark rights. She represents clients in the consumer products, hair care, cosmetics, real estate, retail, and technology industries.
