Litigation, Medical Malpractice Injury and Personal Injury

A Veteran Courtroom Warrior Who Puts Clients First
Albro L. Lundy III is an award-winning litigator with billions of dollars in verdicts and settlements to his credit.  He epitomizes the ultimate in a trial lawyer: not only is he a true warrior in the mold of his fighter pilot father (POW/MIA Maj. Albro L. Lundy Jr.), but he is also a deeply caring man who is willing to sacrifice for his client's cause.  A fighter pilot in the courtroom, if you have a dispute, you need to hire Albro.

Peer Recognition
Albro is an AV rated lawyer who was selected for inclusion in the California Super Lawyers 2008-2012.  He was named one of the top trial lawyers in the State of California, winning the 2009 California Consumer Attorney of the Year award and was also among a select few nominated for Trial Lawyer of the Year for the Consumer Attorney Association of Los Angeles.

Successful Cases
Albro's history of successful litigation cases makes him in demand not only in the South Bay but across the U.S. His record includes numerous seven and eight figure verdicts and settlements. Winning cases have involved motor vehicle, motorcycle, truck, airplane and boating accidents, product defects, medical malpractice, workplace incidents, wrongful death, civil rights, dangerous roads, burns, breach of contracts, business disputes and others.
Albro gives every client his utmost personal attention and professional skill. This was true when prosecuting an anti-trust conspiracy against some of the world's largest energy companies who had created the California energy crisis of 2000-2001. The case recovered billions of dollars. It was also true when he won an eight figure multi-million dollar verdict against Cal-Trans for its dangerous roads, making the state's roads safer for everyone. Albro Lundy is a man who gets results for his clients.

Education and Training
A fifth generation Angelino, Albro graduated with a BA in Business Economics from UCLA in 1981 and was honored as a Chancellor's Marshall for his outstanding citizenship and service to the UCLA community. Before attending law school, Mr. Lundy won one of twelve fellowships from the prestigious CORO Foundation, which includes credit towards a Master's Degree in Public Affairs from Claremont Graduate School.
Albro received his law degree from the Loyola  Law School in 1985. After honing his skills at several prominent litigation firms, Mr. Lundy joined Baker and Burton in 1994.  He and his partners pride themselves on their commitment to their clients and their community, trying to make this world a better place by the practice of their profession.

Involvement with California Legal Community
A member of the California State Bar Association, Albro is also a member of the California Consumer Attorneys Association, the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles and the American Association for Justice, organizations which focus on protecting the injured and oppressed. Mr. Lundy is a founding member of the 8th Street Lawyers, a group of trial lawyers from both the plaintiff and defense bar who have come together for the specific purpose of promoting civility in the legal profession.

Advocacy Outside the Courtroom: Fighting to Find His Father, Vietnam POW/MIA Major Albro L. Lundy, Jr.
Albro's experience and advocacy ranges from the small town courtroom to the Halls of Congress. In his travels he has convinced public figures ranging from Muhammad Ali, Al Gore and Ross Perot to take up his cause and stand with him. In fact, “The Champ” Muhammad Ali travelled with Albro to Vietnam to negotiate with its Premier for the release of American prisoners they believed were held hostage by the communist government.
In Washington, DC, Albro met with then-Senator Gore to convince him to cast the deciding vote to form a critical Senate Select Committee to investigate Government malfeasance. Albro has argued and delivered sworn testimony before both the Senate and House of Representatives.  Albro's stand for the defenseless attracted the attention of media and he has appeared on Larry King Live, Good Morning America, the Ronald Reagan Show and Crossfire.

Community Service
Each of the partners here at Baker, Burton & Lundy believes we have an obligation to give back to our community both through our legal profession and community service. We believe that those who are blessed with the opportunity to go to law school and practice law also have the obligation to use that skill and expertise to promote justice. To those who are given much, much is expected.  Albro Lundy takes that verse very seriously.
Albro has been involved with Plant with Purpose, a Christian non-profit which works to reverse deforestation and poverty, since 1986 and served on its Board of Directors for ten years. He is currently general counsel to Plant with Purpose and his wife now serves as Chair of the Board. Albro has taken his family on mission trips for Plant with Purpose to Tanzania, Africa and the Dominican Republic.
Albro is a member of the St. Lawrence Martyr Parish in Redondo Beach and has served on its Parish council for the last four years, currently serving as Vice President.  Albro and his wife Cathi have been giving Engaged Encounter weekends for the Catholic Church for the last 23 years.  They believe that marriage is the cornerstone of a strong family and that families are the basic fabric of our community.  They have given weekends to over 4,000 couples.
Albro believes in the life-saving importance of donating blood. Since he was 16 years old, Albro Lundy has been donating blood and currently has donated over 115 pints.  When he was at UCLA, he ran the blood drive one academic quarter and was able to secure over 1,700 pints of blood.  Albro isn't kidding when he says he truly gives of himself when he donates blood and tries to donate whenever he can.
Among other volunteer endeavors that Albro participates in is his commitment to coaching.  He has lost track of the number of basketball, soccer and volleyball teams he has coached and believes that teaching by example is truly learned. It is not about winning per se, but about having fun. Albro's teams have fun.
