Sheryl Love has broad experience in many facets of the Firm's intellectual property and litigation practice. Sheryl practices before state and federal courts and the International Trade Commission. Her patent litigation experience includes drafting pleadings, conducting written discovery and depositions, drafting and arguing dispositive and nondispositive motions, and participating in mediated settlement conferences, jury trials, binding arbitration, and evidentiary hearings before the International Trade Commission. She counsels clients and drafts agreements related to patent licensing, rights of publicity, joint development, and other intellectual property issues as well.
Sheryl also has prepared and prosecuted trademark applications before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office and prosecuted trademark enforcement matters, including cease and desist correspondence and litigation to consent decrees. She has drafted numerous employment and separation agreements and has litigated trade secret cases on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants. In addition, Sheryl has counseled clients on copyright issues, including advising the International Olympic Committee on copyright issues regarding films of the 1936 Olympics.
Sheryl does not limit her litigation practice to intellectual property issues, and she has represented clients in numerous litigation matters, including negligence, accounting malpractice, breach of contract, and defamation. She has represented TOTO, The Scott Fetzer Company, Symbol Technologies, Bunge Limited, Bar/Bri, Media Arts Group, Research In Motion, Solectron California Corp., Insight Enterprises, Textron, the Cleveland Browns, the Jewish Community Federation, and the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland in various matters.
