Rose Mary Wenstrup's practice focuses on the representation and counseling of clients in matters involving technology and intellectual property.

She has significant experience in the drafting and negotiation of software licensing, software distribution, custom software development, outsourcing, and application service provider (ASP) agreements; professional services agreements; reseller agreements; system implementation and integration agreements; Web site development, hosting, and maintenance agreements; advertising, linking, participation, co-branding, and joint marketing agreements; confidentiality, nondisclosure, and employee agreements; joint development and strategic alliance agreements; as well as open source licensing and patent and technology licensing.

Rosie has counseled licensees and rights holders in various technology transactions and has represented clients in a range of industries, including the health care, retail, insurance, software, computer products and services, manufacturing, financial services, pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical, and telecommunications sectors as well as universities and nonprofits.

Before joining Jones Day, Rosie was an associate at Baker & Hostetler in Cleveland where she handled intellectual property matters, including international and domestic trademark counseling, prosecution, and licensing for a major office supply retailer. She also managed trademark and Internet domain name counseling, selection, registration, acquisition, licensing, and enforcement for a variety of clients, including a Web design technology-based client, and companies in the apparel, mortgage services, and travel fields. In addition, her work extended to copyright counseling, registration, licensing, and enforcement and assistance in the preparation of character merchandise license agreements.

Prior to practicing law, Rosie spent 15 years in the software industry as a project manager and software developer at SAS Institute, Apple Inc., and Intel and regularly draws upon this experience in representing clients in software and technology matters.
