Wellborn, the founding partner of Wellborn, Wallace & Woodard, LLC, is one of the most well-known attorneys in the United States. Wellborn’s law practice and legal victories have received worldwide publicity, including cover stories in the Wall Street Journal, Boardwatch magazine, and Lawyers Weekly.
Prior to establishing the Firm, Wellborn was a partner at Arnall Golden Gregory (“AGG”), a 150 person multi-discipline firm in Atlanta. In 1998, at the age of just 34 years, Wellborn was named head of AGG’s Internet Law practice group (“INTECH”), making him one of the youngest big-firm department heads in Georgia history. In 2000, he was tapped to head up the entire Technology Law practice group, overseeing the Internet Law, Intellectual Property, Venture Capital, Corporate Technology, Corporate Litigation, and Telecommunications groups. Wellborn’s pre-Firm practice also included three years as a construction law litigator at Smith Currie & Hancock, four years as a medical malpractice defense litigator at Alston & Bird, and two years as a technology law litigator at Hunton & Williams.
