Michelle L. Locey graduated from The George Washington University Law School with high honors in 2005. During law school, Ms. Locey represented low income clients in domestic relations matters in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia as a participant in the Family and Civil Litigation Clinic. She also volunteered at the Family Court’s Family Law Self-Help Clinic, which provides legal assistance to pro se litigants in the Family Court. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Locey was an associate in the Securities Enforcement group at Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering, Hale & Dorr, LLP in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Locey joined Kuder, Smollar and Friedman as an associate in 2006 and practices in all areas of domestic relations law, including separation and divorce, child custody and child support matters, and pre- and post-nuptial agreements, in the District of Columbia, Virginia and Maryland. In addition to her work for the firm, Ms. Locey regularly volunteers as an Attorney Negotiator at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. From 2007 until 2009, Ms. Locey was an adjunct professor of law at The George Washington University Law School and taught Legal Research and Writing and Introduction to Advocacy to first year law students.
