Mr. Weinberg concentrates his practice in business organizations, tax planning and estate planning. Mr. Weinberg joined Lynch, Cox, Gilman & Goodman, P.S.C. after working at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP in Chicago, Illinois. At Sonnenschein, Mr. Weinberg was engaged in a broad-based, national real estate practice that included the representation of clients in both debt and equities matters. His finance experience includes the representation of major institutional lenders in the drafting, negotiating, and closing of bridge, construction, and permanent loans secured by retail, office, industrial, and vacant land. In addition to conventional loans, Mr. Weinberg has also assisted in the representation of equity investors and leverage lenders in New Markets Tax Credit transactions. He also represented major institutional investors in leasing and developing retail, office, and industrial properties throughout the United States. While at Sonnenschein, Mr. Weinberg was selected to serve a three-month externship as associated general counsel for a Chicago-based non-profit organization that provides psychiatric rehabilitation and housing assistance to the mentally ill.
Prior to joining Sonnenschein, Mr. Weinberg worked for five years in the commercial real estate section of Frost Brown Todd, LLC in Louisville. He also interned a summer with the Honorable Bernard J. Friedman U.S. District Court Judge in Detroit, Michigan.
Mr. Weinberg received received his J.D. cum laude from the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class and also served as Co-Senior Editor of the Brandeis Law Journal. He received his B.A. in Economics from Emory University, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class and was selected as a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
