W. Alan Lilley is a managing partner in the firm of Goforth & Lilley where his primary interest of practice is personal injury, commercial and business litigation. He received his law degree from Louisiana State University in 1982 and his Bachelor's Degree in History from Northwestern State University in 1978. Born September 10, 1957, in El Paso, Texas, where his father was stationed and returning to Louisiana shortly thereafter, Al is a lifelong resident of Louisiana . Before attending law school, Al worked in the South Louisiana Oilfields for a number of drilling contractors to pay for his education. This unique experience has been invaluable in handling cases involving workers injured in oilfield accidents. Al is a managing partner in the Law Firm of Goforth & Lilley and handling wide variety of civil litigation matters. While concentrating his practice in the personal injury field, Al has successfully litigated in a number of different fields including automobile, premises liability, maritime cases, products liability cases, commercial and corporate litigation, medical malpractice, large disaster cases, employment discrimination cases, worker's compensation and domestic matters. Al also acts as general counsel to some of Acadiana's Top 100 privately owned companies. Al is a member of the Louisiana Association of Justice, the Louisiana Bar Association and the Lafayette Bar Association. He is a former director of the Lafayette Volunteer Lawyers. He is admitted to practice before the Louisiana Supreme Court, all Louisiana Courts, the United States District Courts in Louisiana and the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal. Al is married to the former Lisa Gossett and has two teenage children. He is a member of Louisiana Ducks Unlimited.
