Webb, Sabine

John ("Jay") Watkins is a partner in the Corporate Practice Group, and a member of the Mergers and Acquisitions Practice Group. He joined the firm in 1996. Having practiced as a corporate and securities lawyer for nearly 30 years, Mr. Watkins’ practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture capital, securities offerings transactions (both public and private), and REITs and other real estate investment entities.

Practice

Mr. Watkins has advised a wide range of clients on complex corporate and securities matters. He has handled asset and stock acquisitions, and securities offerings transactions for public and private companies. He also has represented numerous investment banking firms, as well as merchant banking, private equity and venture capital funds in connection with fund formations, initial public and follow-on offerings, acquisitions of controlling interests, debt and equity investments and LBO/MBO financings.

Professional Activities

Mr. Watkins is a member of the ABA Business Law Section (Venture Capital and Private Equity, Federal Regulation of Securities and Partnerships and Unincorporated Business Organizations Committees) and has been an instructor in numerous continuing education courses and other programs in the area of corporate and securities laws.
