Mr. Libman has practiced law for over a decade and has been a partner at Enterprise Counsel Group, ALC since 2012. A significant portion of Mr. Libman's practice involves civil litigation. In this capacity, Mr. Libman has been able to consistently achieve successful outcomes that meet or exceed client expectations in, among other things, multi-million dollar complex business disputes involving breach of contract and related tort claims, real property disputes involving quiet title and unlawful detainer claims, unfair competition claims and creditor/debtor disputes.
Mr. Libman has a master of laws degree (LL.M.) from UCLA in business law with a tax emphasis. He therefore devotes part of his practice to tax matters. Recent successes include: (1) an IRS appeal where Mr. Libman was able to secure a $0 liability decision from the IRS after it threatened the client with over $1 million in income tax liability; (2) a property tax appeal where Mr. Libman was able to secure a $1.5 million reduction in assessed value from the County's assessment; and (3) a sales tax audit in which Mr. Libman was able to negotiate a near 50% reduction from the California State Board of Equalization's initially proposed tax liability. Mr. Libman is also well-versed in tax matters involving Internal Revenue Code Section 468B qualified settlement funds, qui tam recoveries under federal and state False Claims Acts, transaction optimization and Circular 230 and other tax opinions regarding income characterization.
Finally, Mr. Libman's practice also frequently extends to a variety of matters that do not necessarily involve a dispute. In that regard, Mr. Libman often advises and assists clients with: (1) transactional matters, including those related to entity formation (e.g., the creation of a partnership or LLC); (2) real estate transactions (e.g., the negotiation of leases, purchase agreements or promissory notes); and (3) matters involving estate and trust planning and administration.
