Patty Li is a senior associate in the Securities and Litigation/Controversy Departments, and a member of the Securities Litigation and Enforcement and Investigations and Criminal Litigation Practice Groups. She was an associate in the firm from 2006 to 2007 and returned in 2010.
Practice
Ms. Li’s practice focuses on securities litigation, investigations and enforcement actions. She has played a central role in numerous litigation matters and SEC enforcement actions, which has included drafting motions and briefs, taking and defending depositions, conducting witness interviews and preparing witnesses for testimony. She has also managed and participated in various aspects of written and document discovery, including correspondence and negotiations with opposing counsel and the review and production of documents. In addition, Ms. Li has experience with broker-dealer regulatory matters, and has assisted clients in drafting communications with regulators and revising internal policies and procedures.
During her clerkship with The Hon. Victor Marrero of the Southern District of New York, Ms. Li observed and assisted with all aspects of civil and criminal matters, including conferences, hearings, trials, the review of motions and the drafting of orders. As a law clerk for The Hon. William W. Schwarzer, who mostly sat by designation on various courts of appeals, Ms. Li assisted in matters for the Courts of Appeals for the First, Sixth and Ninth Circuits.
Ms. Li is admitted to practice in New York and California, and before the Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Ninth Circuits. She is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Central District of California, the Southern District of California, the Southern District of New York and the Eastern District of New York.
