Ward, Lawren A.

David E. Levine was born and raised in Queens, New York, where he attended and graduated from local schools. A dual-citizen, David lived overseas for a number of years after high school and served for almost four years in the Israel Defense Force, first as a combat infantry soldier and later as a Liaison Officer to the United Nations. Following his Honorable Discharge, David enrolled in Queens College, where he earned degrees in Psychology and Labor Studies. During his last of year of college, David completed an internship at the Kings County District Attorney's Office. David found himself intrigued by the law as well as the adversarial nature of the criminal justice system. He was accepted to Brooklyn Law School and chose to concentrate on criminal law and procedure.

Following his first year as a law student, he returned to the Kings County District Attorney's Office as a summer intern and began to utilize his education and developed a concrete understanding of its applicability in various legal quandaries. During his second year of law school, he was a Legal Assistant in the United States Attorney's Office, Eastern District of New York, Organized Crime Bureau. He took night classes during law school in order to continue working and gained practical experience, as well as the trust and respect of his peers and superiors. Following his second year of law school, he once again returned to the Kings County District Attorney's Office for their summer internship program. At the end of that summer, David was recruited to the Homicide Bureau for the subsequent school year as a Legal Assistant. Although still a student, David was assigned several cases including a participating role in two homicide trials.

Upon graduation in 1992, David was awarded his Juris Doctor. David passed the bar exam and became a licensed attorney. David was immediately hired by the Kings County District Attorney's Office and started his career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Organized Crime Bureau. David's dedication and ambition was rewarded as he was the first in his class of 110 junior prosecutors to be promoted to Senior Assistant District Attorney. David spent the next four years prosecuting cases that frequently made headlines. David also educated police officers on various legal and procedural matters, such as applying for wiretaps and search warrants. During David's prosecutorial years he was commended numerous times. In 1994, he received an award from the NY/NJ Waterfront Commission Police Department for his "outstanding leadership and service", in 1995, an award for his "outstanding guidance and untiring efforts" from the NYPD - Brooklyn South Vice Enforcement Squad and in 1996, an award from the District Attorney for his "dedication to the cause of justice" and for being an "outstanding advocate". In 1996, David resigned from his position in the Kings County District Attorney's Office to go into private practice.

David has been in private practice for over 15 years, specializing in Federal and State criminal offenses. His vision has been to maintain a high quality, boutique-style law firm that emphasizes both the importance of hands-on client contact and proven results. David is a seasoned attorney who is frequently retained in high-profile cases. He has appeared in local newspapers (NY Times, Daily News and NY Post), radio shows and on national television (Court TV, CBS, NBC and Fox News). David is known for his professionalism, legal acumen, his desire to fight hard for his clients and for achieving favorable results. He has traveled throughout the country to represent individuals in federal cases and has been admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of the United States.

David is a member of the New York State Bar Association, New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Kings County Criminal Bar Association and the Brooklyn Law School Alumni Association.
