Matt Leppert focuses on Employee Benefits. Matt came to Schuchat, Cook & Werner in May 2003 after receiving his law degree and Certificate in Health Law Studies from St. Louis University School of Law where he served as Senior Articles Editor for the Journal of Health Law and President of the Public Interest Law Group. Matt also worked for the St. Louis University Law Clinic where he participated in a successful lawsuit to restore vision benefits to Missouri's Medicaid recipients. Prior to Law School, Matt worked for a Department of Defense Managed Care Contractor in the Southeastern United States. Matt is active in the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL). He has served as chair of the employee benefits committee of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and chair of the Employee Benefits Section and co-presented seminars on topics, such as Taft-Hartley (multiemployer) plans and the Affordable Care Act. Matt is also Co-Chair of the Motion for Kids Committee which, in partnership with the St. Louis Rams and others, sponsors an annual holiday party for St. Louis area children with one or more parents who have been affected by the justice system. In 2010, Matt received the President's Outstanding Service Award from BAMSL for his work with the Motion for Kids Committee. Matt is a member of the American Bar Association's Section of Labor and Employment Law, the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, and the AFL-CIO, Lawyers Coordinating Committee. Matt has been admitted to practice in both Missouri and Illinois.
