Ms. Kristina Voorhies Legan is “Of Counsel” for the Law Firm of Shaw & Associates, P.C. In that capacity, Ms. Legan consults and directs the Firm’s Family Law Practice. Ms. Legan also handles all federal criminal appeals that the Firm accepts.

Ms. Legan is a board certified family law attorney with over (20) years of family law practice. Her practice includes a range of niche family law matters including complex divorces and international child custody disputes. Ms. Legan obtained her board certification from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Family Law. She is also a certified mediator.

Ms. Legan served in the El Paso County Domestic Relations Office where she created and implemented a community supervision program from its inception through the present. Ms. Legan also launched informational classes, as a service to the community, under the umbrella of the El Paso Domestic Relations Office.

Ms. Legan is an active member of several in organizations including the El Paso Family Law Bar Association (serving as treasurer), Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of El Paso (serving as secretary), and the Texas State Bar Association.

Ms. Legan earned a B.S. degree from the University of Texas in 1990. She received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University Of Texas School Of Law where she concentrated heavily on Family Law.

Ms. Legan is admitted to practice law in the following jurisdictions: Texas, and U.S. Federal District Court Western District of Texas. Ms. Legan’s admission to New York is pending.
