Mike Valen is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Law. He spent his third year of law school attending Florida State University Law School on scholarship while working as a Legislative Intern for the Committee on Commerce of the Florida House of Representatives. While working for the Commerce Committee, Mike was involved in drafting employment law legislation, and authored a published article in The Florida State University Law Review on the Legislative History of Worker's Compensation Reform in Florida. Mike has represented hundreds of clients with employment related injuries and disabilities, and brings his extensive litigation and appellate experience to the firm's complex and catastrophic personal injury practice. Mike's practice philosophy is to "listen and learn" from each individual client the facts unique to that person's case, in order to maximize their legal recovery. Mike is married with two children. He is a member of the Tampa Bay Trial Lawyers Association, and the Florida Justice Association. His interests include sports and music, and he plays guitar in a local band.
