Randy Laird was born in Laurel, Miss. on May 11, 1955. His family lived in Waynesboro, Miss. until 1968 when they moved to Ellisville, Miss. He graduated from Jones County Junior College in 1975. He attended the University of Mississippi where he attained a Bachelor of Public Administration in 1977, a Master of Public Administration in 1981 and a Juris Doctorate in 1982. He was inducted into the Pi Alpha Alpha National Honorary in Public Administration, and received the American Jurisprudence Award. He also interned with the United States District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi.
Randy was admitted to the bar, Mississippi (1982). After graduation from Law School in 1982 he worked for Shell Oil Company in Houston until 2000 when he returned home to Ellisville to open a practice. Randy was elected Alderman-at-Large in 2001 where he served one term, and currently Randy remains very active in civic and local affairs.
Randy joined the Firm in 2002. He is admitted to practice before all Mississippi state courts, the Northern and Southern Federal District Courts and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Randy is a member of the Jones County Bar Association (President, 2009), Mississippi Bar Association, American Bar Association, Friends of the Ellisville Public Library, City of Ellisville Advisory Council, Former Alderman-At-Large (Ellisville), Board of Trustees (Deerfield Village, Houston, 1987-1996), Family Health Center Board of Trustees (2003-2008), Family Health Center Board Counsel.
