Steven is a shareholder in the firm of Briggs and Morgan, Professional Association. He is based in our Minneapolis office and is a member of the Energy Law Section. Steven focuses his practice in the areas of:
Steven has extensive experience in the energy industry with major business development and electricity commodity transactions, risk management, international cross-border transactions, regional reliability of power supply and regional transmission organizations. He represents major Midwestern utilities, public power providers and generation developers in generation development, marketing, transmission services, asset restructuring, and construction-related matters.
Steven is a member of the Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Energy Bar associations. He has spoken at several CLE seminars on energy matters and is a past national director and member of the Energy Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in Minnesota and Wisconsin, and various federal courts.
Born in Duluth, Minnesota, Steven received his B.A. at the University of Minnesota and earned his J.D. at Hamline University Law School. Steven served as assistant general counsel for a Fortune 1000 energy corporation before joining Briggs in 2004.
